Coming Clean: What’s in your cabinet?

by Matthew Taylor Ruggieri on April 30, 2013.

A sneak peak into what products people are using on the regular to keep themselves looking as best as they can.

Your face is the first thing people see and are oftentimes judged on. I’m not trying to sound shallow or vain. It just happens. Especially living in Los Angeles. So, each day before I hit the streets on my daily routine, I make sure that everything’s up to snuff. And this is a few of the essentials I choose.

Top Row: L- R

1) Razor Shield: I picked this up from The Motley to give it a test. I put a little dab of the clear gel on my razor post-shave. So far, the life of the blades has been improved and each shave is smoother than the last. I highly recommend this stuff.
2) Rudy’s Shower Bombs: Placed in the shower, they slowly release their menthol goodness as they dissolve. Epic relaxation even if you are standing up. Not so much the daily, but the more relaxed one is, the less stress will show in their skin.

Middle Row: R – L

1) Evolution Man Moisture Protect: Dab a bit of this on the arms, face and neck for protection against the UV Rays raining down.

Bottom Row: L – R

1) Baxter of California Clay: I use this everyday. Gives the mane a nice moldable quality. My tip is to put it in (just a small dab) post-shower after you’ve dried your hair just a bit. It actually blow-dries in nicely.
2) Billy Jealousy Liquidsand Exfoliating Face Wash: Somewhat akin to the apricot scrub, tiny granules clean deep and leave the face baby soft.
3) Chief’s Face Wash: This stuff will get you clean and get you going unlike any other product on the market. Or at least unlike any other product I have personal experience with. Ginseng, peppermint, menthol: These add up to an intense facewashing experience. My one rec would be to steer clear of your eyes. Not that it will hurt them or anything, but it does burn a tad. It’s healthy though.
